MedSoc has a number of teams in a wide variety of sports – as well as the highly competitive football team, we plan to have men’s and women’s matches in rugby, netball, cricket and anything else that has sufficient interest. These allow medics to train and socialise with each other as well as compete against other medical schools, colleges and societies, with medic Varsity matches against Cambridge a highlight of the season. Sport at uni isn’t just about the sport though, and there are plans for regular MedSoc Sport socials, ranging from team curries and crew dates to pub crawls and nights out. MedSoc teams are open to anyone and all abilities – there will be some training sessions and matches over the first few weeks of term, so if you’re interested in playing come along and get involved!
Please contact your sports rep Pierre Vila for more information on how to get involved. For Netball, contact the co-captains Tilly Hill (St Anne’s) and Katie Townsend (Corpus Christi).
