Academic Welfare

Hi,
We’re Sam and Kirsty, your MedSoc welfare officers. We’re here to help you as you adjust to life as a Medical Student, being always available to offer support, as well as providing free tea and donuts throughout the year at Welfare social events!

We are always available to offer support. There is no problem or concern too big or small. You can approach us any time, either in person or through email. We will also be scheduling some drop-in sessions and events where you can come to relax, talk things through and support each other. The service is totally confidential and we are both experienced in listening and counselling. We may well have faced similar problems ourselves and so will understand what you’re going through. If you need more formal advice we also know our way around the university’s excellent welfare services and can guide you. Your college will also have a JCR welfare officer who can help, but given the unique challenges of medical school, MedSoc’s dedicated welfare team may be better able to help with any subject-specific problems you may face.

If you have any worries at all, please don’t hesitate to get in touch with us on:
