As the name might suggest Oxford Medical Students Society, affectionately known as MedSoc, is a society that aims to support all medics (and quite a few horribly outnumbered biomedics) academically and in terms of general welfare.
We organise awesome events, big and small, from lectures and free food at the Medical School (known as the MSTC) to cocktail nights and pub crawls. Then there are the all important dissection drinks each term, and the one and only Medic Ball! You will also get free or discounted tickets to our events, and benefits and discounts all around Oxford.
MedSoc also exists to aid communication between the medic student body (members and non-members alike) and the faculty and can act as the medium through which comments, questions and suggestions can be passed on to the staff during reviews held each term.
Our website, www.medsoc.co.uk, has a list of constantly updated academic resources which you might find handy. We also have two dedicated welfare officers to whom you can speak confidentially about anything that might be bothering you.
Join the Facebook group – Oxford Medicine Incoming Freshers 2011 – Official MedSoc Group – to meet your fellow medic freshers and to fire any questions at us.
