Medsoc is proud to announce its annual ball: Christmas at The Randolph, 25th November. The highlight of Medsoc’s social calendar, this event provides a champagne reception, 4-course meal, brilliant entertainment and an afterparty.

Freshers Dissection Drinks 2012 – Thursday 11th October
IT’S BACK!!
The infamous dissection drinks are a great way to meet the rest of your year without being herded into labs or lectures. Come along to hertford baring room where alcohol will be provided to ensure the ‘work hard play harder’ ethos has been instilled into this next generation of doctors. Afterwards, follow us to junction to finish up the night in true oxford style.
This event is FREE to all medsoc members, so make sure you’ve joined before hand!!

President’s Welcome 2012
Dear Freshers,
Hello and welcome to Oxford Medical School! Congratulations on your results and I hope you are all excited about starting your time at Oxford. You are coming to read Medicine at what is one of the most prestigious universities in the world, although it will be challenging it is completely worth it for all the opportunities available to you, one of these being the Oxford Medical Society!
This booklet is here to introduce all that MedSoc has to offer for you as well as providing invaluable tips for surviving tutorials and lectures. Here you can find out about the new MedSoc committee, some of the events we’re planning for your first year (in particular our infamous MedSoc ball) and things to do and places to go while enjoying your time at Oxford.
The MedSoc committee are here to ease you into life as an Oxford medic by providing lots 
of opportunities to let your hair down, make friends and live up to the ‘work-hard, play-hard’ ethic. If sport is your thing we have a men’s football and women’s netball team with plenty of socials. Academic support is also available should you ever need it.
Remember – we were all in your shoes last year or the year before so don’t hesitate to get in contact with any of us at any time. We can’t wait to be involved in guiding you smoothly through your first year, and are committed to ensuring you make some fantastic friends and memories!
